Established in 1977, Cutler Anderson Architects (formerly James Cutler Architects) is internationally renowned for its environment awareness and attention to detail. Their approach to design can be stated simply as an attempt to reveal the nature of every circumstance - the nature of the institution that we house, the nature and significance of the place in which it is located, the nature and power of the materials with which we build.
The Firm has designed over 300 residential, commercial, and cultural projects around the world. In addition to architectural design, Cutler Anderson Architects has designed a myriad of home products in conjunction with its architecture, including hardware, furniture and lighting. The Firm offers these home products through its exclusive affiliate, Reveal Designs. Dedicated to design excellence, Cutler Anderson Architects has received six National Honor Awards from the American Institute of Architects and over 40 other national and regional awards. On a per architects basis, this represents more awards than any other firm in the United States. Jim Cutler has been featured in numerous articles published in the New York Time, Wall Street Journal, Seattle Times, Newsweek, Architectural Record and the Smithsonian Magazine. Two recent books published by Rockport Publishers, focused solely on Cutler Anderson Architects' architectural design, have highlighted some of their seminal projects.
